Clint Rogers chose Manang for his Ph.D. dissertation field research because of the community’s fascinating history of business activity in Southeast Asia and Kathmandu and the vibrant nature of recent entrepreneurial activity in Manang. While conducting research, the author spent twelve months in Manang and eight months in Kathmandu in between 2002 and 2003.
